Expanding & Rebranding

It has been a while since my last written blog post, so in this one I will outline some of the changes I've put forth to my current series, as well as outline the changes and story ideas I have for future releases and series.

Astral Tides: The Six-Book Series

Originally published with the intent to be a trilogy of 100k+ word long books, it didn't take me long to realize that books that long were not what I wanted to be producing. I put Astral Tides on the shelf and worked on other projects until I felt I could adequately revisit them. Starting earlier this year, I began editing and revising the books Astral Tides: Rimward and Astral Tides: The Shadows of Uhmakhet, eventually chopping up the story, cleaning it up, and republishing them as Astral Tides: Rimward, Astral Tides: The Huntmaster, and Astral Tides: Eravice (which releases in December!). Currently, I am working on the last three books to finish the Astral Tides series, which are thusly titled Astral Tides: The Shadows of Uhmakhet, Astral Tides: Into the Black, and Astral Tides: Whispers from the Void. This will complete the Astral Tides story arc in its entirety. I may revisit the universe at some point in the future, but once these six books are done I will move on to other series.

Cybersaurus: An Overdue Revolution

Cybersaurus will be receiving the same treatment as Astral Tides, in which I will edit and revise the story as it currently sits, chop it apart, reconfigure it, and republish it as two smaller novels. Once that is finished, I will continue with that series with books of similar length until I have a full six-book series, just like Astral Tides. Titles and covers will be released at some point in the year 2017.

Dreadful: The New Scares

With Behind the Locked Door being one of my most successful book releases so far, I do plan to follow it up with more titles in the Dreadful series. These stories will continue to be $0.99 novellas of horror, dread and the supernatural. They will be loosely connected, but ultimately they will provide me with an opportunity to explore what scares me, and what I hope scares you as well!

Other Story Ideas

The following are all story ideas I plan on exploring at some point, whether as part of a series or as standalone books.

  • Supremacy - Low Science Fiction/Underdog: A story of the speculative future of eSports, Supremacy will explore the life of an underdog video gamer and his team as they go from their simple, Midwestern lives to challenging the top teams of the latest strategy game Supremacy. Current plan is to make this book novel length at 60k+ words.
  • Monster Stompers - Dark Comedy/Supernatural: The plan for this series of short novellas is to explore a dark, comedic group of blundering YouTube stars and their monster-hunting business. My basic premise is to do the inverse of Scooby Doo! - in Scooby Doo!, the characters take everything very seriously, but the monsters are always a joke or a hoax. In Monster Stompers, the characters are unprofessional, untrained internet "stars", but all the monsters are real. Current plan is to make this a series of 20k+ novellas.

So those are my most concrete ideas so far. What do you think? Which are you looking forward to the most? Let me know in the comments below!
